About the Position: Serves as an Strategic Plans Analyst in the U.S. Army Futures & Concepts Center, G-3/5/7 Plans Division with responsibilities for strategic organizational planning activities and issues across FCC, at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Duties

Serves as a Strategic Plans Analyst with responsibility for strategic organizational planning activities and issues. Serves as a subject matter expert, advisor, and consultant in internal, operational, and strategic plans and concepts. Plan and conducts both short-term and long-range strategic assessments and reviews other broad scale actions/projects associated with future force modernization efforts. Leads Operational Process Teams (OPT) in the execution of cross-organization projects and activities. Plans, coordinates or participates in conferences relative to meeting operational requirements in support of Lines of Effort (LOE) priorities. Prepares and presents oral and written reports and briefings on the staffing, progress and results of studies/projects. Maintains current working knowledge and status of major Army initiatives and familiarity of Army force management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty travel is required up to 20% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
