You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will ensure customer's NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet) Services requirements are accurately understood and documented to allow for proper analysis, review, and approval by the appropriate stakeholders.
You will lead efforts to ensure validated operational requirements and priorities are defined, documented and communicated appropriately.
You will set up workspaces with equipment to access Navy Marine Corps Intranet Services (to include desktop clients, monitors, video teleconference systems, peripherals, and mobile devices) ensuring equipment is configured and ready for customer use.
You will ensure all cybersecurity components under your purview have completed the appropriate evaluation and configuration processes prior to incorporation into or connection to an Information System (IS).
You will maintain a repository for applicable system-level cybersecurity-related documentation.
You will troubleshoot and helps customers resolve issues not supported by NMCI Navy Marine Corps Intranet Field Services personnel.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 and 411 level A within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Creates and processes new and existing task orders for any additional services and service modifications to support and meet the needs of end-user IT service management requirements.
2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Works directly with customer organizations to customize services to meet specific customer requirements.
3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presents briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Proposes solutions to work problems presented by employees.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above: your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Providing end-user IT services, to include researching and evaluating new customer service management systems; 2) Recommending new IT services and service management principles to enhance the effectiveness of the customer support program; 3) Overseeing implementation of new systems and services; 4) Developing training guides for customer support employees.
