About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Assistant Director, Healthcare Administration location in Falls Church, Virginia.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Compile data from files, correspondence, telephone and personal contacts for inclusion in reports.
Execute administrative policies, determines and implements appropriate procedures.
Provide final quality assurance review of work products such as draft directives, decision papers, issue papers, and other similar correspondence prepared for the signature.
Establish internal procedures to secure and adequately control deadlines, progress reports, and directives.
Take independent action to secure the required administrative and managerial support to meet operating requirements.
Determine nature of inquiries and utilizes thorough knowledge of organization's mission to handle or refer the inquiry to the appropriate official or office.
Utilize word processing systems and other office systems to prepare letters, memoranda, and reports.
Assemble data, information and knowledge sources for compilation, interpretation and presentation to support key issues under review by the AD HCA leadership.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Basic Requirements for Executive Assistant (OA) GS-0301-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Manage a broad variety of administrative tasks to include: managing active calendar of appointments, composing correspondence, proofreading documentation, manage taskers effectively and arranging complex travel plans; obtain information for leadership to use in various meetings, discussions and conferences on the basis of only general instructions; utilize modern automation systems such as, word processing, PowerPoint, excel, electronic mail, and electronic calendaring systems to prepare reports and/or briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Qualified typist is required (40 wpm).
