This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves as a Senior Requirements Analyst for JCD. Provides subject matter expertise on all programs, policies, procedures, and activities related to the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process.
Duties
As a SENIOR REQUIREMENTS ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinate joint military requirements for major defense acquisition programs, major automated information systems, and special interest requirements and programs.
Determine staffing and funding requirements needed to achieve organizational goals and objectives for the current and upcoming years and work with the Division Chief to meet strategic objectives.
Develop and prepare information briefings on JCIDS policies, as well as policy presentation for J8 senior leaders and other senior leaders within DoD and external organizations on military requirements and JCIDS.
Ensure that proposed changes to policies and procedures are in accordance with related statutory and regulatory guidance, including the Department of Defense (DoD) 5000-series directives regarding the defense acquisition system.
Assess acquisition programs and potential alternatives by evaluating the program costs and performance, as well as reviewing program compliance with valid performance objectives and thresholds prior to each acquisition milestone.
Oversee the conduct of research and determine future requirements for the organization.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GSGS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector:
Managing and developing programs, policies, procedures, and activities related to the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).
Develops changes as a policy analyst within the DoD and provides oversight of other Joint Capabilities Division (JCD) managed programs.
Assesses acquisition programs and potential alternatives by evaluating the program costs and performance, as well as reviewing program compliance with valid performance objectives and meets the needs of DoD.
Develops and provides Joint Staff (JS) responses to official queries from both DoD and external agencies and maintains updated process briefing materials.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
