This position will serve as a student trainee and will receive training in analytical methods used to develop objectively based information in support of administrative and programmatic planning, development, evaluation, and managerial decision-making. On-the-job training assignments provide a practical understanding of the organization, programs, policies, and objectives of the agency as well as furnish experience in the application of principles, procedures, and work techniques.
Duties
As a Student Trainee (Management Analyst), you will:
-Perform work as a part of a team in conducting and performing analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of the operations of the assigned organization.
-Assist in any segment of the full range of program operations work done in the organization.
-Participate in the technical reviews of work in progress or finished work products of contractors for accuracy, adequacy, and soundness.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Using computer applications and internet resources to research, analyze, and communicate information in the appropriate format.; AND
-Drafting and preparing reports and responding to inquiries in oral and written communication.
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: For the Pathways Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: One full year of graduate level education (This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.)
OR Superior Academic Achievement: Based on a Bachelors degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society.
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine your education and experience, you must determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required, then determine the education as a percentage of the education required, and then add the two percentages. The combined total of your percentage of education and experience must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. (For example: the completion of 50% of the requirement for a bachelors degree (50% of the education requirement) and 6 months of specialized experience. (50% of the general experience requirement) added together equal 100%.)
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Education
Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:
A. Must be a current student at an accredited high school (public or private) or in a home-school program*; college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. *Secondary home-school curricula must be recognized by the State or local government oversight agency.
B. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. Please review the "REQUIREMENTS" section of the vacancy announcement to ensure that you qualify to apply to this internship.
C. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
