This position is based at the Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology (CfNN), within the Research Service Line at the VA Providence Healthcare System in Providence, RI.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties include but may not be limited to:
Ensure that all Research staff on projects have current credentialing documentation, maintains files.
Track regulatory training readiness and compliance.
A variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the research organization.
Primary contact between the center, local and national administrative offices, and outside organizations.
Maintains Government Purchase Card (GPC) authority and makes purchases.
Work Schedule: Full Time; Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 1 year). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4 year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS 6) level in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: Work in an office setting with-in a multidisciplinary scientific/research environment.; Manages service-level policies and standard operating procedures using applicable guidance, regulation and policy.; Plan program area tours/site visits for various groups of personnel.; Maintains a time and attendance system.; Maintain appointment calendar for organizational leadership.; Keep web data for projects and center information up to date.; Assist new personnel and students with their on-boarding process.

Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items will be required.
