About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Ordnance Training Detachment. Responsible for personnel administration and office management. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties which relieve the supervisor of all office routine and assists in the solution of procedural and management problems which arise.

Duties

Responsible for processing and maintaining records relating to government travel charge card program for the department. Initiates routine personnel actions. Monitors and tracks military and civilian personnel actions, awards and evaluations. Receives and controls incoming correspondence, mail, publications, and regulations. Uses office automation to accomplish clerical, statistical, and data entry tasks in support of the administrative work of the office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational AwarenessPersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingReasoning (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
