About the Position: Kimbrough is the headquarters of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, Fort George G. Meade, includes a number of U.S. Army health clinics, occupational health clinics, telemedicine, behavioral health, allergen extract lab, drug testing labs, and environmental health clinics at several installations in MD, PA, VA, & DC. Kimbrough provides primary care, selected specialty care & same day surgery for TRICARE Prime patients.
Duties
Serves as a Medical Support Assistant for the Family Advocacy Program Office (FAP).
Provides direct assistance to the Clinical Director of FAP, Army Medical Command, and FAP Staff to include Army Central Registry (ACR).
Provides service and coordinating activities with a variety of medical, social services, and legal staff.
Performs a variety of administrative, medical, and clerical tasks related to sensitive and high-risk issues with patient care and treatment within FAP.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement less than 25% of the time.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing clerical/administrative and automation support using multiple computer systems and technologies, to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams); 2) Performing record keeping and filing electronic and paper records in accordance with prescribed policies and guidance; 3) Preparing correspondence and/or reports ensuring correct grammar and format; 4) Providing customer service, answering phone calls, greeting patients and/or visitors and referring them to the appropriate channels.
