The financial requirements for the CMOP are very complex in nature, requiring financial accountability for a variety of costs associated with providing service and billing to multiple medical centers. The incumbent in this position will provide data input into a variety of financial reports and systems. The position will serve to promote sound financial decisions in the CMOP services activities, enhance the business practices, and preclude fraud, waste, and abuse.
Duties
Major Duties:
Maintains general ledger or subsidiary accounts. Classifies all types of normal transactions and recurring adjustments. Receives, reviews, analyzes, classifies, and reconciles transactions, and commitment and obligation documents. Codes and processes documents.
Maintains unliquidated obligation and backup files. Regularly reconciles accounts and adjusts them to reflect outstanding balances. Liquidates obligation when notified of receipt of goods/services.
Process receiving reports to include total review of documents to ensure they are authorized in accordance with current finance regulations and funding is available.
Prepares invoices and other fiscal items for payment. Verifies amounts with original obligation document. Notes, clarifies, and corrects discrepancies.
Prepares reports and statements that reflect account relationships. Some accounts require extensive supporting schedules and analyses to explain changes from previous reporting periods.
Analyzes error listings, identifies error source, corrects entries, and reprocesses transactions. Reconciles reports, records, and accounts. Traces errors and makes necessary adjustments.
Analyzes and prepares recurring and special reports on the causes of adjustment actions, determines the source of processing deficiencies, and recommends corrective procedures.
Consistently communicates and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
Provides customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
Handles conflict and problems in dealing with customers constructively and appropriately.
Work Schedule: 6:00am - 4:30 pm; M-F (Varied Schedules)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/22/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge of accounting procedures and techniques which involves different programs that generate a large variety of transactions.
Knowledge of most accounting classifications and subdivisions to make classification determinations and process transactions.
Knowledge of accounting procedures to review, clarify and code appropriation funding, allotments, obligations and disbursements.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and requires no special physical demands.
