About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Intelligence & Security Directorate, Joint Interagency Intelligence Operations Center Division, U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL.

Duties

Maintains liaison with peers in national intelligence agencies and DoD, Law Enforcement Agency, and allied foreign government personnel involved in tactical CN/C-TOC intelligence operations. Plans and conducts assignments to collect, evaluate, develop, and maintain databases to prepare analyses, reports, projections, and briefings for senior officials. Assesses developments that would change the methods or vulnerabilities of counter-narcotics/TOC activities and the operational plans to counter such threats. Exhibits oral and written communication skills when interfacing with Intelligence Analysts and Managers at all levels. Conducts all-source intelligence analysis, reporting, and production to support assigned assets involved in counter-narcotics (CN)/counter-transnational organized crime (C-TOC) detection and monitoring efforts. Identifies intelligence gaps, specifies collection requirements to fill gaps of information to deter and combat threats.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) will be required less than 25% of the time.
• A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
