About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Intelligence & Security Directorate, Joint Interagency Intelligence Operations Center Division, U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL 33040, J23.
Duties
Analyzes intelligence workload requirements and provides supervisors and managers with recommendations for assigning duties and responsibilities to positions.
Provides staff oversight, advice, and assistance concerning Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) intelligence policies, programs, and projects.
Directs, plans, coordinates, monitors, interprets, and evaluates Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) intelligence
policies, programs, and projects.
Directs, plans, coordinates, monitors, interprets, and evaluates Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) intelligence activities to ensure compliance with policies and objectives.
Prepares and presents briefings on subjects related to intelligence resources supporting JIATF South intelligence missions.
Responsible for Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) intelligence provided to operational forces of multiple agencies to include the DoD, United States Coast Guard, U.S. Customs Service, DEA, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Prepares and presents briefings on subjects related to intelligence resources supporting JIATF South intelligence missions.
Serves as the Intelligence Plans and Programs Advisor and Senior Intelligence Analyst for JIATFS.
Serves as the Command technical expert for matters relating to the direction of intelligence resource management and execution.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes 1.) managing intelligence related programming, budgeting, or resource management activities AND 2.) planning all source intelligence requirements that support Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) operations and/or activities.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
