About the Position: This position supports the mission of J-8, Financial Operations Directorate and is located in San Antonio, Texas.
Duties
Maintain and manage Data Quality Dashboards, reports, and applications such as the electronic Data Quality Application, and other external databases supporting all Data Quality stakeholders throughout the MHS.
Perform process improvement functions in support of productivity analysis, provider currency, resource allocation, patient care, examination of clinical outcomes, managed care support contracts, and the overall credibility of MHS data.
Monitor status and progress of work and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from supervisor as needed.
Serve as a SME for all Data Quality Performance Measures throughout the revenue cycle process, including, but not limited to, Billing and Collections, Medical Coding, Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System, or other current DHA equivalents.
Perform Organization Inspection Program (OIP) and Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs), provide advisory, identify deficiencies or success stories, design corrective actions, take follow up action, and provide feedback to key staff, and decision makers.
Develop innovative processes to improve and enhance data quality performance, directly impacting the effectiveness of process improvement in the timeliness, accurateness and completeness of MTF’s data in the MHS’ data repositories.
Ensure the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, products and services.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in the management of data to support health system stakeholders, 2) participating in process improvement functions to enhance data quality, AND 3) providing assistance with data feeds from automated systems such as Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
