Duties

Training specialist and operational planner, performs work activities that provide the basis for operational readiness and future training needs. Provides support and assistance to aligned supported units, augmentees, and coalition partners. Interacts with soldiers and senior leaders to enhance Command warfighting proficiency. Assists in development of the Command Training Guidance for each new fiscal year. Synthesizes long-range training strategies to resolve systemic problems or meet future projected training needs of Reserve Component brigades.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires a Secret security clearance.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes A wide range of training methods, techniques, and tools 2) educational developments in the field, in order to design and develop training courses and materials, evaluate training program. 3) Experience with virtual training simulation associated with the training assignments, to include awareness of technological changes or new developments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
