The primary purpose of this position, ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2610-12 is to perform leadership duties in support of the supervisor and the mission. To perform operational and functional testing of, and to install modify, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate, various complex integrated avionics systems.
Duties
Install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, calibrate, and perform final bore-sight alignment of complex integrated avionics systems, on multiple fighter and cargo aircraft.
Select and utilize a variety of general and specialized test equipment, as well as on-board aircraft diagnostic systems, along with the appropriate technical orders, to perform operational and functional checks on multiple fighter and cargo aircraft.
Perform aircraft safe-for-maintenance procedures in accordance with applicable technical data, prior to accomplishing operational and functional checks.
Debrief flight crews (pilots) and flight test personnel (run crews) to data and to clarify any malfunctions encountered during prep-for-flight and flight test.
Demonstrate knowledge of mathematics, including trigonometry, to calculate power relationships as well as signal phasing.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WL-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to climb maintenance stands, and to the top surfaces of aircraft to perform operational and functional checks, troubleshoot discrepancies, and to make repairs. Employee is required to lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 24 pounds without assistance and above 25 pounds with assistance. May be required to work in strained and cramped positions. Climbing and working at heights may also be required. Required to have hand dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and true color perception.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Required to work in aircraft hangers, and also outside of the flight line and maybe subjected to inclement weather. Employee may be exposed to potentially dangerous situations involving high voltage, excessively high decibel noise, aircraft hydraulic systems such as speed brakes and wing leading and trailing edge flaps, high temperature exhausts, explosives, aircraft ejections scats, high-pressure air, and multiple hazardous materials.
