About the Position: This is a Library Technician position GS-1411-07 position with US Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, Office of the Chief of Staff, MCOE G-3 located in Fort Moore, Georgia.
Duties
Use library operating procedures and policies to answer questions on borrowing and access privileges, accessing library databases, loan procedures and library programs.
Obtain, clarify or provide information related to library functions to patrons.
Uses bibliography data bases and local library modifications to access catalog records or change information to meet the needs to the library.
Apply established practices to treat a variety of problems or situations or locate and provide information.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The work of this position may require the employee to work irregular hours in support of training.
- Work may require working alternate or flexible work schedules in conjunction with training cycle support. Overtime work, night work, weekend work, and Holiday work may be required.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The work requires the employee to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized experience: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing circulation periodicals, cataloging of library materials; preparing and receiving correspondence related to request for interlibrary loan activities; assisting patrons on databases in assisting and retrieving information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
