Duties
Use library operating procedures and policies to answer questions on borrowing and access privileges, accessing library databases, loan procedures and library programs.
Obtain, clarify or provide information related to library functions to patrons.
Uses bibliography data bases and local library modifications to access catalog records or change information to meet the needs to the library.
Apply established practices to treat a variety of problems or situations, or locate and provide information.
Requirements
- The work of the position may require the employee to work irregular hours in support of training.
- The work may require working alternate or flexible work schedules in conjunction with training cycle support. Overtime, night, weekend and holiday work may be required.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level performing circulation, periodicals, cataloging and acquisition duties, and performing tasks which furnish direct and indirect services to the public.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
