You will serve as a COMBINED TRADES SUPERVISOR I in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, PIPE SHOP of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will plan sequence of operation and work steps for multi-trade crews in the performance and Industrial Plan Equipment (IPE) maintenance.
You will be familiar with the Electronic Facilities and Equipment Maintenance application (eFEM).
You will keep abreast of changing requirements, methods, shop skills developments, furcating workloads and available manpower.
You will have Lock Out Tags Plus (LOTP) experience.
You will be familiar with Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE) maintenance for multiple shops/codes across the shipyard.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Ability to coordinate multi-trade workload and duties amongst employees based on capabilities of available employees, materials, and machines, and shifting priority of projects;
Ability to resolve working problems and takes necessary corrective action to overcome delays such as bottlenecks, equipment breakdown, and material shortages;
Ability to inspect work in progress and completion to assure efficiency, economy, and safety of operation are adhered to;
Ability to train subordinates in work methods and procedures, proper use of tools, regulation and policies established by the federal government, department, bureau, or installations;
Ability to participate in the wide field of personnel matters concerning subordinates, including performance rating, leave request, disciplinary and commendatory actions, promotions, demotions, transfers, separations, grievances, and beneficial suggestions.
