Duties
You will provide suggestions for refining inspection program and information on findings and areas of concern.
You will determine and implement the most feasible corrective measures for routine environmental deficiencies.
You will conduct review of contractors performing routine permit sampling, investigations or construction on environmental projects.
You will respond to oil and hazardous substance spills and provide guidance on the containment and cleanup of minor spills.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-9 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assists team leader or supervisor to determine resolution of routine problems associated with water and wastewater, air above and underground storage tanks, spill prevention, hazardous waste, and restoration programs; 2) Utilizes standard environmental compliance technologies to resolve compliance problems; 3) Implements inspection checklists; and 4) Assess the impact of daily routines on public safety and the environment.
GS-7 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assists team leader or supervisor to determine routine problems associated with water and wastewater, air above and underground storage tanks, spill prevention, hazardous waste, and restoration programs; 2) Assists with using standard environmental compliance technologies to resolve simple compliance problems; 3) Implements inspection checklists; and 4) Assist with the assessment of the impact of daily routines on public safety and the environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is sedentary except during regular and recurring field work and investigations where there may be considerable walking, bending, and climbing to visit areas of interest, including visits to industrial areas and ships, for inspections or project coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in an office setting; however, significant time will be spent in the field. During field inspections, there may be exposure to hazardous substances.
Education
Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience as described above may qualify with education or a combination of experience and education, as follows:
GS-9
Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
