About the Position:
This is a permanent position with Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Resource Management located in Washington, D.C.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis. Position is being filled at the GS-09 target GS-11 grade level. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-11 level. Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision.
Duties
Performs administrative functions to include serving as a Personal Assistant to the Director, Tier II Senior Executive Service (SES) .
Provides a variety of administrative staff consultant and technical advisory services.
Maintains the Director (SES) and Deputy (Colonel) office calendars of appointments, meetings, and conferences.
Administers the Financial Management System for travel orders, temporary duty claims, settlements, training, government credit card purchases, small purchase requests and contracts.
Assists and advises Action Officers (AOs) on all procedural and administrative aspects of processing staff actions and correspondence.
Prepares a variety of narrative and statistical material, correspondence, reports, etc., in final form for Director/Deputy signature and review.
Projects travel budget, expenditures and prepare the appropriate administrative correspondence to complete travel budget transactions.
Ensures efficient use of staff resources and responsible for the prevention of any duplication of effort within the agency.

Experience required at GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Performing and providing a wide variety of administrative advise, functions, tasks and assignments to support the Senior Executive Service (SES), Director of the organization; preparing travel related documents and maintaining financial administration through the use of automated financial management systems; and communicating and interacting with top civilian and military personnel and other stakeholders to perform basic fact-finding tasks, obtain and exchange necessary information.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages
Experience required at GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Performs administrative functions to include serving as a Personal Assistant to the Director. Provides a variety of administrative staff consultant and technical advisory services. Maintains the Director and Deputy office calendars of appointments, meetings, and conferences. Operates office automation systems and various software packages.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
