The primary purpose for this position is to provide a wide variety of administrative functions in support of the HUD/VASH and Homeless Programs and functions in collaboration with the Program Support Assistant, the Administrative Officer and the Chief of Social Work.

Duties

Assist in the administering and coordinating the Social Work Service Homeless programs and clinics. Responsible for collecting, compiling, and tracking of data and statistical information in support of the HUD/VASH and Homeless Programs. Prepare statistical or informative data regarding Homeless Programs to the Service Chief or other functional areas. Has full delegated responsibility to conduct surveys of manpower, budget and space utilization, and can recommend changes in these areas for the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations. Collaborate and assist in development, coordination and implementation of varied reports, correspondence, control files, etc. Serve as Records Control Officer for the Homeless Program providing guidance to all staff in the maintenance and disposition of records. Serve as a point of contact (POC) for patient inquiries, complaints, and problems. Preform Timekeeper duties for the Homeless and HUD/VASH T & Ls, in addition to being a service ADPAC. Responsible for assisting in providing orientation of staff in Social Work Service. Maintain competency folders on all Title 5, Title 38 hybrid, and non-privileged staff members to ensure that they are updated with mandatory training and educational activities. Assist the Program Support Assistant and the Administrative Officer in coordinating all changes in clinical programs in which employees, consultants, supplies, testing materials, equipment, space, and other facilities need to be planned for, ordered, received and inventoried. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/15/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: assisting in planning, development, coordination, and implementation of healthcare administrative operations; utilizing various software systems to compile/collect data, perform timekeeping functions; performing data analysis, generating reports, and preparing various correspondence; provide training to staff as well as distribute and monitor workload; and preparing reviews, correspondence, and coordinating various meetings. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Information ManagementWriting Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Ability to work under pressure and constant interruptions. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
