You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE in Gulfport, MS.

Duties
You will perform duties in support of receiving, issuing, inspecting, storing, packing, and moving material to be prepared for shipment.
You will receive, unload, and process incoming shipments manually or through an automated system.
You will count types and quantities of items during inventories and maintain tally listings during the count.
You will keep record of materials or items received or distributed.
You will checks lists showing stock identification changes to ensure that the proper items are selected and assembled for issue.
You will re-warehouse material in accordance with the master storage plan and use appropriate database tools to document re-warehousing transactions.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and/or government vehicle operator permit.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials in accordance with prescribed regulations; assisting in conducting inventories; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements; documenting discrepancies, damage, and technical non-compliance; reading and preparing shipping documents; using computer applications to maintain and produce required data; reading and complying with warehouse plans; determining proper handling and storage procedures; and operating forklifts and material handling equipment. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies and damage; reading and preparing shipping documents; using computer applications to maintain and produce required data; determining proper handling and storage procedures; and operating forklifts and material handling equipment. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
C. I have the ability to perform common tasks including receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; reading and understanding shipping documents; understanding warehouse layout and complying with basic warehousing procedures; and operating forklifts and material handling equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
