You will serve as a MATERIAL HANDLER SUPERVISOR in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE AT GULFPORT, MS.
Duties
You will supervise and perform planning efforts to support a complete range of receiving, shipping, inspecting, inventorying and accommodation storage assignments.
You will annotate and sign receiving and other control documents, verifying items listed and match items received.
You will perform accuracy reviews of accommodation storage operations and databases by conducting periodic spot checks in order to validate inventory levels and accuracy.
You will pack and stage a wide variety of equipment, parts, tools, materials, aircraft components and other items.
You will hold formal training and instruction for FLCJ employees regarding proper use of MHE as necessary, and issues forklift licenses for qualified personnel after acquiring proper credentials.
You will promptly report accidents, injuries, safety violations or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator's certification.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including leading or supervising all warehouse operations and performing work involving the receipt, stowage, inventory, picking, packaging, kitting, issuing and shipping; preparing of material including classified or hazardous material for shipment, the loading and unloading of material from various types of conveyances; using common hand tools and complex material handling equipment (MHE); using a variety of packing and preservation techniques such as braces, foam, and multi-application reusable containers to protect equipment and parts prior to shipment; ensuring team complies with established safety, environmental, equipment use and security requirements; conducting formal training on various topics; monitoring and/or performing required personnel management duties involving attendance and leave administration and resolution of complaints; rendering significant decisions on personnel actions such as selection, promotion, and reassignment actions following EEO regulations. I work on my own initiative under limited general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
