This position is located with the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Outdoor Recreation Program.
Regular Full-Time appointments are guaranteed 40 hours per work week and are eligible for all Army NAF benefits.
Duties
Responsible for the overall management of a year-round Outdoor Recreation facility that includes lodging units, RV camp sites, a marina, etc. Outdoor Recreation activities are supported year-round by military community and authorized civilians.
Administers the business, financial, and recreational operation of the park maintaining accurate account of all revenue, funds, assets, and property. Formulates information for both APF and NAF budgets. Procures supplies and equipment.
Plans, devises, and administers wide range of outdoor recreational activities, recurring and nonrecurring activities, and special events based on community interest and needs, insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants.
Continuously evaluates effectiveness of ongoing Outdoor Recreation activities, adapting and varying program activities based on participants’ response, program evaluations, etc. Uses data to develop program plans and annual budget requirements.
Performs full range of supervisory duties for all personnel assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Program and deals effectively with employees on complaints, grievances, and other matters involved in the daily administration of the Recreation Program.
Requirements

- Must be able to work a schedule which may include working some nights, weekends, and possible holidays.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (NF-03).
1. Directly related work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques of outdoor recreation and understanding the interest of individuals and groups.
2. Experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
3. Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs.
