You will serve as a Paralegal Specialist (Lead) in the NLSC.
Duties
You will be responsible for general office management and administration; ensures timely, accurate preparation and submission of correspondence and reports, and proper maintenance of files.
You will liaise and coordinate with Supervisors in setting work priorities for military and civilian paralegals and legal assistants to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of work without adverse effect on regular and recurring work.
You will onboard all newly reporting trial staff, ensuring access to all files, directories and distribution lists.
You will assist attorneys in their conducting of training to assigned military and civilian support staff on topics such as local law, court procedures, legal research, documentation preparation, case management and office procedures.

Qualifications
GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Preparing assigned criminal cases in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations;2) Preparing and reviewing legal pleadings and case summaries in addition to accompanying attorneys during hearings and litigation to assist in the organization of testimony, presentation of evidence, and required research;3) Ensuring office compliance with reporting requirements and applicable policy, procedures, laws and regulations.
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Onboarding new employees, scheduling / maintaining appointment calendars for attorneys, verification of data-entry into case management system, and overseeing the general training program for paralegals and legal support staff;2) Preparing standard legal documents and routine correspondence;3) Interviewing victims and witnesses to obtain and verify information and prepare for trial.

Education
GS-11
Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
