You will serve as a SOCIAL WORKER in the ???????BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAMS of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will serve as a Family Advocacy Program Clinical Counselor providing expert advice, comprehensive counseling, and case management services to active duty personnel and their families. You will facilitate training programs and seminars focused on both prevention and intervention. You will plan, develop, and implement programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure. You will conduct workshops and command training programs to aid in the prevention of domestic violence and promotion of good mental health.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Must have a current state license to practice independently as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Psychologist or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) per SECNAV Instruction 1752.7A .
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You must possess and maintain a current and valid State driver’s license.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . 1) Providing short term, solution focused psychological counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups of people in crisis; 2) Receiving initial reports and providing safety planning, risk assessment and case management related to child abuse and spouse abuse; 3) Developing and providing treatment targeting at-risk and substantiated victims and offenders of family violence; 4) Maintaining case records, assessments and treatment plans documenting clinical counseling in accordance with policies and regulations. Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
