Duties
You will direct the conduct of individual and weekly formal group psychotherapy sessions for members found guilty of a sex, violent, and/or drug offense.
You will schedule correctional programs concentrated to the greatest extent possible after the prisoners' normal workday.
You will provide crisis intervention counseling.
You will conduct initial evaluation of all newly confined prisoners and prisoners with changes in status.
You will conduct psychological evaluations and transition recommendations for progress reports in submission with clemency and parole requests.
You will provide input and oversight on prisoner program plans.
You will apply professional diagnostic skills to individuals, and to counsel individuals and groups; take psychosocial histories, provide health teaching and crisis intervention.
You will develop comprehensive social work care plans, evaluate intervention outcomes, coordinate services provided, and adjust regimens when needed.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to practice social work independently in the state of North Carolina.
- You must possess at least a master's or higher degree in Social Work from a college or university
accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . 1) Providing individual and group psychotherapy for persons convicted with a sex, violent, and/or drug offense; 2) Providing input and oversight on program plans; 3) Providing crisis intervention counseling to all personnel as needed; 4) Maintaining case records, assessments and treatment plans documenting clinical counseling in accordance with policies and regulations.

Applicants must possess the following:
Degree: Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
OR
Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum.
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
