National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Directs logistics and supply, and other support service policy, program planning, and program execution.
Manages, supervises, and coordinates all logistical and supply activities.
Directs the procurement, storage, accountability, and disposition of property and expendable supplies.
Responsible for supply, transportation, and mail services; support contracts; and other related logistical activities.
Assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of employees responsible for the varied logistical, supply, and support services within the branch.
Responsible for the formulation of and execution of budget related to recurring requirements, special events, and life cycle replacement and modernization of academic and office furnishings, disposition of equipment, materials.
Responsible for developing and executing an integrated logistical support plan to support major university events and distinguished visits.
Participates in recurring working groups and operational planning teams.
Requirements

- Must submit a Financial Disclosure Statement.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Required to obtain/maintain a Financial Management Level 2 Certificate in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience directing logistics and supply; directs procurement, storage, accountability, and disposition of property and expendable supplies; assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of employees; formulating and executing the budget; and developing and executing a logistical support plan to support major events.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
