This position is part of the Security Services, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Manage and perform complex assignments of the Security Engineering Program.
Provide security reports to develop Executive Orders and federal policies.
Provide expert technical expertise.
Act as the expert liaison for the life safety fire alarm systems.
Plan, analyze designs, develop tests, configure, install, implement, maintain, provide quality assurance, and manage security networked access control systems.
Train all Physical Security Specialist and Uniform Officers.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required
- Selectee must pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
- Confidential Financial Disclosure report may be required
Qualifications
To qualify for the Physical Security Specialist, PG -0080-14, you must meet the following requirements:
To minimally qualify for the PG-14 grade level, you must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at the PG-13 (or equivalent) grade level or higher. Specialized experience is defined as experience in that includes:
-Troubleshooting and resolving issues in information, electronic, physical, and/or industial security;
-Managing networking environments;
-Analyzing and and planning the developing of security policies; and
-Preparing and conducting training of security methods and techniques;
-Expert experience with P2000 and C systems, CURE 9000 Physical Access Control Systems' software or similar physical Access Control systems
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience not be used for this grade level.
