About the Position: This is a Supervisory Realty Specialist, GS-1170-14 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Fort Worth District, Real Estate Division. The duty location is Fort Worth, TX.

Duties

Serve as Chief of the Acquisition Branch, Real Estate Division, with responsibility for the acquisition real property throughout an area of jurisdiction which includes all US States. Direct the leasing of real property to support the civil works and the military missions within the District boundaries. Direct branch activities concerning the acquisition of civil and military activities. Monitor Federal acquisitions for conformance with P. L. 91-646, as amended. Direct a subordinate staff of 35-55 supervisory, technical and support employees to perform the work of the branch. Act as liaison between Branch and other organizational elements in the District in regard to the acquisition programs and schedules. Attend conferences and meetings concerning controversial purchases, relocation actions, condemnations, leases, etc

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Overseeing an acquisition real estate program for large areas of land for civil works, military, and other federal agencies; 2) Evaluating real estate acquisition programs and operations to identify existing or potential problems.;3) Developing local policies and procedures for a wide range of real estate actions; AND 4) Advising Federal and/or non-Federal officials on real property acquisition and real estate planning activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipProgram ManagementReal Estate Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
