This position is located in the Management Directorate, Office of Security & Integrity, Mission Assurance Division, Identity Credential and Access Mgmt Branch, Special Security Section. As an Security Specialist, you will serve as a Special Security Officer for intelligence facilities and systems with the Office of Security and Integrity for USCIS.

Duties

In accordance with executive orders, laws, and regulations, develop, review, integrate, and implement policies, standards, and procedures concerning special security and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility construction and inspection. Oversee the handling, transition, and dissemination of classified material in accordance with established procedures and ensure records are kept consistent with Office of the Director of National Intelligence policies, standards, and procedures. Implement procedures, methods, and processes for supervision and management of special security operations and serve as an Agency representative point of contact for Special Security Program areas. Conduct special security awareness training for USCIS. Assist with the development of a special security awareness program within the Agency, including briefings, directives; computer based training and audio-visual presentations. Assure uniform and consistent interpretation of security policies, standards, and procedures among and between USCIS Directorates and Program Offices to enhance the Agency's intelligence information sharing among DHS and other federal agencies.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/15/2023. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/15/2023. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Managing and administering a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF); Developing policies and procedures concerning special security and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) construction and inspection; Representing an agency in Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) interagency working groups; Conducting special security awareness training for a large organization Please read the following important information to ensure you submit everything we need to consider your application: It is your responsibility to ensure that you submit your responses and appropriate documentation prior to 12/15/2023.
