Duties
Serves as the Transportation Manager for the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), responsible for the development of transportation policy/doctrine.
Serves as the ASCC proponent for the review of the Army Plan (TAP), HQDA Program Budget Guidance, Army Long Range Plan, Army Logistics Assessment.
Serves as the technical expert and principal advisor to this ASCC in all areas of transportation's functional responsibility.
Develops policy, doctrine, and planning for short- and long-range projects as it pertains to ARSOF transportation, programs, systems and support requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
- TDY travel is occasionally required.
- This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
- Valid State operator's license is required to drive military vehicles.
- Incumbent will occasionally perform weekend duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the development of transportation policy/doctrine, procedures, and objectives that support Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) missions in all theaters of operation. Writing command transportation regulations, makes technical decisions and resolves controversial operational and policy matters. Reviewing Operation Plans (OPLANS) and Concept of Operation Plan (CONPLANS) for adequacy/supportability in transportation and transportation related areas for all theaters of operation as it pertains to ARSOF missions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
