About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the roll of a Mission Integrator for the Operations Directorate responsible for assisting in the development of the relationships needed to bring all parts of the Defense Transportation System (DTS) enterprise together to meet the needs of the Department of Defense (DOD).
Duties
As a Mission Integrator assigned to the G3, plans and coordinates cargo movement requirements for the division, reading, interpreting and implementing new or revised directives after discussion with immediate supervisor.
Conducts daily/weekly briefings to supervisor and senior SDDC leadership concerning status of current and planned movements.
Renders assistance as necessary on difficult cases or problems related to cargo movements.
Resolves problems and recommends courses of action while enacting the best economical solution to satisfy delivery demands.
Analyzes data and recommends appropriate type of transport service based on mission cargo locations and unique requirements.
Conducts studies to determine transportation industry capabilities under various emergency conditions and their ability to perform under such conditions.
Develops alternative courses of action, ideas, concepts of operation, and detailed data collection plans to support project efforts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Planning and monitoring cargo movements using automated transportation systems; and 2) Utilizing and interpreting policies, procedures and/or regulations to determine and coordinate cargo movement requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. Combination of Education and Experience: I have the experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
