The position is located within Social Work Service under the guidance of the Post 9-11 Military to VA (M2VA) Case Management Program, where seamless, easy transition for the Post 9-11 combat Veterans is coordinated. The incumbent serves as the Program Assistant to the Manager, Care Management Program. The incumbent is responsible for all administrative records and the processing of professional administrative aspects of the program, data analysis, and coordination of Care Management activities.

Duties

Duties include: - Provides a complete range of program support which includes customer service coordination, data analysis, graphing, special Care Management projects, monitors, and compiles data. - Perform work involving collection, compilation, analyzing and tracking of data and statistical information. - Assists in the acquisition, development, and scheduling of program resource materials and personnel. - Conducts program surveys and analyzes trends based on expressed needs of Veterans and stakeholders. - Responsible for preparation of reports, memorandums and outgoing correspondence. - Coordinates the calendar for the program manager and Chief of Social Work Service in the absence of the Social Work Service secretary, as well as the outreach activities for outreach staff based upon personal knowledge of the workload, current issues of importance and the critical nature of the visit. - Coordinates and screens all incoming correspondence and communications for proper distribution. - Maintains a variety of files for administrative and professional activities. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/12/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary in nature; however the emotional and physical stress resulting from frequent contacts with distressed individuals, some of whom may be dangerous to self or others, makes the work more demanding then most sedentary positions.
