The primary purpose of this position is to: To serve as an Aircraft Documentation Systems.
Duties
As an integral team member, participates in planning meetings to define scope of work to be accomplished.
Performs surveillance of system database contents.
Thoroughly reviews, monitors, researches, interprets and cross references all aircraft documents and systems data to assure all work requirements have been accomplished.
Develops and implements plans and procedures to accurately reflect in a body of aircraft documentation, the history of the aircraft, its current configuration and all-inclusive records of depot maintenance accomplished for weapon system/Mission Design Series (MDS) assigned at duty station.
Analyzes and initiates corrective action on errors/variances generated on multimillion dollar maintenance of overhaul/modification aircraft.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. This position is a developmental GS-05 Target GS-09 position. Individual selected may be promoted without further competition, upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Starting salary indicated on this vacancy announcement is for the GS-05. This position is covered by a formalized training program and pay retention of 150% of the maximum rate of the basic pay is authorized for candidates requesting a Voluntary Change to Lower Grade. Military Spouse candidates exercising their preference will be placed at the full performance level, if considered to be best qualified and selected.

GS-05- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least have (52) weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-4) level or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as assisting in areas such as: performing developmental and recurring work assignments; assisting with preparing a variety of documents and participating in conducting studies, programs and projects.

EDUCATION: Completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited junior college or university. Note: (You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience that qualifies for this position that computed percentage requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: (You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)
GS-07 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least (52) weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05), or equivalent in Federal pay systems. Specialized experience is defined as analyzing and assisting with solving problems, gathering data, and planning and conducting special initiatives, studies, and projects.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education or I have a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievements in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:(You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience that qualifies for this position that computed percentage requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: (You must submit a copy of transcripts.)
GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least (52) weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07), or equivalent in Federal pay systems. Specialized experience is defined as providing data management control, performing surveillance of system databases; and reviewing all documents and system data to ensure all work requirements have been accomplished.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or have 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a LL.B OR J.D., which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance, technical order terminology, and format of the assigned weapon system, sufficient to manage and operate appropriate maintenance management information systems (MIS:).
Extensive knowledge of MIS, (i.e.1 IMDS, ALIS,CEMS, REMIS, GO-81, and PDMSS/0-097) and how the systems interrelate.
Knowledge of maintenance operations, regulations and policies of aircraft production lines, and planning and scheduling as they relate to processing · of aircraft forms, records and documentation systems.
Skill in interpreting technical data., standards and instructions and the ability to relate this data to assigned aircraft projects, sufficient to prepare production plans s and schedules and to maintain effective follow-up.
Ability to extract; correlate and analyze a variety of system data and input precise technical data.in various systems.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others and the ability communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working is performed primarily in an office environment, but employee may periodically be required to visit production areas, which involve, moderate risks, discomfort, and require safety precautions. Visits to industrial areas take place in all weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to strong orders; fumes from paint, fuels; or chemical used in the work processes and may be-required to wear protective equipment/clothing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
