This position is located at Office of the Chief Information OfficerInfrastructure Operations. As an IT Specialist, you will serve as a Senior IT Service Line Specialist with responsibility for managing complex, state of the art applications, end user services, and system and network infrastructure in a large, diverse, geographically dispersed Information Technology organization.
This is not a remote position; you will be required to be in your duty station office per CEC telework policy.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Plan the layout of existing computer equipment or systems, release of discontinued equipment, acquisition and installation of new equipment, and the relocation of equipment.
Plan and implement computer hardware and software upgrades, platform migrations, and computer security policies on an agency-wide basis; and troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with the design and delivery of end user services.
Act as a senior service line expert, project leader and technical expert, demonstrates initiative, provides guidance and facilitates mentorship to subordinates and peers.
Work independently without assistance or supervision, and effectively manage priorities.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Providing guidance and oversight on the integration and implementation of Virtual Telecom systems Infrastructure for a large enterprise environment using technologies such as Cisco Webex Control hub or Poly Endpoints or Microsoft Teams Admin Center, and handling customer communication (oral and written) in a professional manner.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Using Cisco Unified Communication Service Administration in order to provide services such as VoIP, and Call Center functionality to a large enterprise. Including Cisco Webex Control Hub or Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks. For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
