You will serve as a Test Director in the Waterfront Operations of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will be responsible for overseeing the construction, testing, delivery, and post-delivery work onboard US Navy Ships and craft. You will oversee the implementation and direction of comprehensive Test and Evaluation Program (TEP) for the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure accuracy, application, and enforcement of contract requirements. You will adapt to many new initiatives associated with IPT design, development, construction, post-delivery and life cycle support of the ship or craft You will provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex shipbuilding production and testing problems involving new construction contracts for ships and craft. You will work closely with engineers and representatives of supporting Government and major contractor organizations to ensure both technical and non-technical objectives and plans are integrated and balanced. You will be responsible for test and evaluation data requirements for incorporation in contract data requirements list deliverables and statements of work and preparation of test and evaluation sections of the ship specifications. You will maintain close contact with the PMO through DMPR and PMR to ensure lines of communication between various participants are maintained to elicit support for program objectives, coordinate necessary changes to original program plans.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing shipbuilding test program analysis or guidance to develop test strategies, schedules, plans, or solutions on resolving test issues of shipboard systems, subsystems, or components.
