About the Position: This position is located at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
This is a term position not to exceed 5 years.
Position may be filled by temporary reassignment or promotion not to exceed 5 years. If are you a current federal Department of Defense employee, you may have return rights to your prior position.
Duties
This position serves as the Chief of Staff (CoS) for the Market and is responsible for the management and execution of business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning for the Market.
Direct the Market's planning and execution of financial processes, manpower and personnel, information management, strategic planning, personnel resource assignments and skill development.
Oversee other critical services such as: Clinical Operations, Market Operations, Resource Operations, and Special Staff functions.
Collaborate with the Market Director and Deputy Market Director to oversee and assure unity of the Directorate's highly visible Market, aligning functions and processes into a singular Market strategy.
Requirements

- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require to work overtime.
- This is a situational telework position.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Lead or develop or execute or evaluate current and future plans and operations, such as, readiness, training, inspections, safety, force development and modernization programs for a regional command and provide expert advice on these programs to senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
