Duties
You will interpret information to determine the quality and relevance of information to be used for decision making and is responsible for Financial Improvement Audit Remediation (FIAR) requirements and reviews.
You will perform the necessary actions to accomplish and provide various accounting analysis, and to plan the accounting techniques used for the expeditious accumulation of required data in reports preparation, cost accounting, etc.
You will monitor the execution of funds for current year and prior years.
You will prepare funding documents in DAI and various accounting systems for signature and issuance to performing activities.
You will assist Echelon IV component commands with reconciliation of OPTAR records and makes accounting adjustments as needed.
You will review and evaluate the accounting systems and the accounting services rendered and devises and recommends changes that will increase efficiency of accounting procedures and benefit management operations.
Requirements

- This position requires to obtain a Financial Management Certification Level 2 in accordance with National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. Certification level must be achieved within prescribed timeline from date of assignment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work for substantive programs and support activities AND providing financial improvement and audit remediation for accounting, review, analysis, and forecasting for management and control of funds for current and prior fiscal years.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying, analyzing and resolving a range of budgetary problems such as development of alternative methods of funding AND formulation of budget estimates for programs.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree
OR
LL.M., that is related to the position being filled
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
