NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. As a recognized expert in the field of Information (IT) security, the incumbent provides authoritative guidance related to the NEH IT security program. The incumbent has general oversight that includes IT system security; employee awareness training; policy creation; cybersecurity-related data calls and reports.
Duties
Oversees the development of long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT system vulnerabilities.
Determining what hardware and software is required to meet user needs.
Advising leadership on the OPB and OIRM annual cybersecurity budget.
Liaison to Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), OMB, and other agencies in relation to cyber security matters for Memorandums, Emergency Directives, and Binding Operational Directives.
Develops strategies for responding to future cybersecurity challenges.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
At the GS-14 level: Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency; applying knowledge of federal government computer security laws, policies, and regulations as issued by OMB, NIST, DHS, and others; preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex and/ or controversial issues; designing, developing, and managing systems that meet current and future business requirements and apply and extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture.
