About the Position: This position is with the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (1MDTF) located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Duties
Responsible for the management of ground and tactical safety programs for the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (1MDTF).
Plan, organize, coordinate, and provide oversight for the Task Force safety program in accordance with established regulations.
Advise the MDTF Commander on Occupational Safety and Health program management.
Coordinate unit safety activities with other safety programs.
Provide leadership, guidance and advice to staff.
Direct and advise mishap investigation boards and make recommendations for specific investigative techniques to complete final report.
Perform Risk analysis of tactical exercises and evaluates specific countermeasures.
Investigate and analyze material damage, personal injury accidents, and cases of occupational illnesses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This is an Emergency Essential (E-E) position subject to deployment. May be required to participate in readiness exercises and training.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
- This position may be required to work some overtime to include some weekends and holidays while geographically working at the JBLM worksite.
- Requires frequent deployment under field conditions. Under crisis or deployed operations to foreign countries, may be required to work expanded hours, 7-day workweek, and extended duty days.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
- Training and certification in accordance with the FC-12 ACTEDS Training Plan commensurate with the identified grade level is required for personnel filling these positions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes resolving technical matters regarding occupational safety and health requirements; inspecting workplaces, processes, products, and safety systems for compliance with safety and occupational health policies; and identify potential safety hazards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
