This position is located under the Office of Professional Responsibility & Security Operations, Personnel Security Division, Adjudications Branch in Washington, District of Columbia.

Qualifications

GS-9 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Providing assistance and support in organizing, coordinating and controlling procedures for initiating, reviewing and recording of personnel security investigations; AND Assisting in reviewing background investigation requests and investigation reports to support recommendations to grant or continue security clearances in accordance with regulations, guidelines and procedures; AND Providing procedural information regarding background investigations; AND Assisting in preparing reports and entering data into security systems. OR Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or at least 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the requirements of the position. OR A combination of graduate education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. GS-11 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Reviewing background investigation requests for accuracy and completeness and ensuring compliance with Federal and agency regulations, standards, policies, and procedures; AND Reviewing and evaluating background investigation reports for fitness and suitability and making recommendations for resolving security program issues; AND Granting, continuing, or denying security clearances, and waivers; AND Interpreting and providing information and advice to management on personnel security policies, procedures, and requirements; AND Preparing reports summarizing investigations, findings, and actions. OR Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the requirements of the position. OR A combination of graduate education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
