This position is located within the Lebanon VA Medical Center's (VAMC) Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV) Housing and Urban Development- VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program in Lebanon, PA. The position carries out all duties related to obtaining and maintaining housing for homeless or Veterans at-risk for homelessness who are referred by a homeless program provider or self-present for HUD/VASH voucher services
Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Providing services to identify landlords and safe, clean, and quality apartments in communities throughout the Lebanon VAMC service area.
Working with the Veteran to locate appropriate housing using the HUD-VASH voucher.
Providing continuing case management services for Veterans to obtain secure and stable housing through the utilization of HUD-VASH vouchers.
Coordinating services with a wide range of Veterans, community housing authorities and community agencies.
Utilizing various treatment modalities of individual and group work, casework, community organization, and community outreach activities to alleviate or remove problems that interfere with homeless Veterans' ability to achieve independence and maintain their residence.
Coordinating care including serving as an advocate on behalf of the Veterans to ensure comprehensive service delivery and linking and referring Veterans to the VA Medical Center, VA Regional Offices and/or community agencies.
Keeping all data analysis and tracks trends of HUD-VASH admissions and discharges then reports data to HCHV Program Coordinator.
Tracking and distributing all HUD-(ASH) vouchers; completing all housing authority paperwork for each Veteran.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-11 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes providing services to identify quality housing; providing case management to those receiving HUD vouchers; coordinating services with community housing authorities and community agencies; and gathers data and tracks trends for reports. EDUCATION: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) -OR-
COMBINATION: Have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate education (in excess of 2 years) combined with specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily community based. Typically, the employee will sit to do the work. However, there will be walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items (such as books, papers), accessing transportation, and/or driving a government vehicle. The work requires patience and control of emotions.
