About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Resident Engineer position in the Chugach Area Office. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction quality management, interpreting construction contracts, and leading project delivery teams. Candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge of construction contract administration, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and an ability to leverage the talents of a diverse team.

Duties

Supervises the Resident Office engineering staff and work operations at a variety of geographically dispersed subordinate project offices. Ensures compliance with the contractor's quality control programs, and reviews safety plans for compliance with applicable specifications and manuals. Applies full professional engineering knowledge together with practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques in accomplishing assignments. Takes all actions in relation to processing of contractual documents without authority to: render a final decision of the Contracting Officer in connection with disputes.

  • Responsibilities of the position require incumbent to possess and maintain registration/ certification.
  • Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Secret T3 security clearance.

This position has a Selective Placement Factor Requirement: This position requires registration as a professional engineer and/or professional architect at the time of application.
