You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the Learning and Development Department of the School of Infantry-East, Training Command, Training and Education Command
Duties
You will interpret Marine Corps policy, perform courseware review functions, and recommend corrective action when deficiencies are identified.
You will serve as the resident expert in Marine Corps Training Information Management Systems (MCTIMS) compliance.
You will provide excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a working knowledge of current operating procedures for Training and Education Command and School of Infantry East.
You will conduct a formal review of assigned Programs of Instruction (POI) prior to submission to higher headquarters.
You will ensure adherence with Marine Corps policies and standards.
You will verify that course content accurately reflects the purpose and scope of each course of instruction conducted.
You will provide editorial oversight to ensure Program of Instruction reflects correct grammar, spelling, and syntax, and replicate the approved Individual Training Standards, where applicable, for each course reviewed.
You will serve as a consultative expert on the ISD process for courseware development, and use of the Marine Corps Training Information Management Systems program to produce both paper copy and electronic versions of the Program of Instruction.
You will maintain liaison contacts within the command such as, Training Administrators, Training Officers, and training section personnel tasked with development of instructional material.
You will maintain outside liaison with higher headquarters, to include sections of Training Command, to ensure smooth and efficient coordination and resolution as questions/problems arise as a result of Program of Instruction submissions.
You will advise and/or develop training materials which conform to existing guidelines.
You will revise training materials that require modifications and adaptation of existing materials or methods in support of approved programs of instruction.
You will develop studies and analyze Programs of Instructions.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1.) Reviewing and editing Programs of Instruction to ensure adherence to policy and procedures; 2.) Guiding learning activities and learning reflections during online and in-person lessons; 3.) Researching, developing and updating course material in accordance with prescribed course framework; 4.) Preparing and maintaining lesson plans; and 5.) Observing and evaluating training session effectiveness and reporting on findings.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1.) Assisting with the review and editing of training program materials; 2.) Assisting in the research for the development of training programs, 3.) Assist in editing lesson plans to reflect new guidance or policy; and 4.) Drafting responses to training inquiries.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09:
- I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree OR
- I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR
- I have successfully completed LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled OR
- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
GS-11:
- I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
- I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
- I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR
- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
