About the Position: This position is located in Defense Health Headquarters, Medical Affairs, Clinical Support Division and it is located in Falls Church, Virginia or San Antonio, Texas.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties
Develop, recommend, monitor and advise on policies and patient support services pertaining to Medical-Forensic Management of Sexual Assault (MFMSA).
Ensure the medical tracking and monitoring of patients following sexual assault within Defense Health Agency's military treatment facilities (DHA MTFs).
Exercise delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the DHA’s MFMSA Program.
Has direct oversight of the forensic examiner training program.
Manage the development of forensic healthcare policy changes in response to changes in levels of appropriations or other legislated changes.
Evaluate the program through analysis of data, studies, and reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Basic Requirements for Health System Specialist GS-0671-14:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing and managing strategic communications, 2) assisting in the development of policies, concepts, and/or initiatives related to sexual assault, 3) providing program management skills, AND 4) assisting in the oversight of training programs for medical forensic providers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
