You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/ENTARCH) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will conduct analysis, and maintain subject matter expertise (SME) on key theater C4 architectures and assets that support the execution of USINDOPACOM-directed operations, activities, and investments (OAI), including exercises. You will research, review, and interpret policies/regulations, develop partnering contacts internally and within the AOR, attend battle rhythm meetings, conferences, exercises, conventions, or other activities as needed. You will track C4 events and problems, assess associated risk, track mitigation/remediation actions, and monitor through to resolution. You will manage programs and/or projects as assigned. You will lead efforts to document and refine roles, responsibilities, products, and processes for any/all aspects of the organization.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IAM level I within 12 months of appointment
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector including the following:1) Partnering with internal and external stakeholders in assessment of enterprise architecture operations support; 2) Solving IT problems and creating solutions, 3) Utilizing appropriate tools to integrate and represent relevant information 4) Communicating IT project updates with senior leadership; and 5) Conducting both oral and written communication clearly with senior leaders. GS-11:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector including the following:1) Assisting with the review or assessment of enterprise architecture operations support; 2) Solving IT related problems and helping to create viable solutions; 3) Utilizing appropriate tools to integrate and represent relevant information; 4) Tracking IT project status updates; and 5) Conducting both oral and written communication clearly with senior leaders. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Substitution for the GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
