You will serve as a CLINICAL TRIALS SPECIALIST in the Operational Infectious Disease Department at the Naval Health Reseach Center, San Diego California of NAVHLTHRSCHCEN SDIEGO.
This announcement uses the Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will serve as the lead coordinator for clinical trials, interviewing and hiring and training study-specific staff, supervising all aspects of study conduct of trial.
You will conduct and coordinate regular visits to all study sites to review study documentation for accuracy prior, completeness, and content.
You will develop and recommend program changes to accommodate new legislative or regulatory constraints or technical advances.
You will develop novel protocols from provided research summaries and adapt sponsor protocols for review.
You will develop and generate regular reports for the Principal Investigator, site supervisors, Institutional Review Board (IRB) Chairman, CO/XO, and external study sponsors on the progress of ongoing clinical trials.
You will assist in the development of study budgets and proposals for funding consideration.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Proficiently communicate results of research protocol reviews using presentations and discussions on program status to command leadership and personnel at external agencies;
Executing biosurveillance processes and procedures;
Editing and submitting Human Subject Research Protocols for approval;
Training personnel for recruiting subjects for human subject research;
Working with Public Health departments across various locations to conduct clinical research.
