About the Position: This position is located at Little Rock Air Force Base in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Duties
Determine stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized supply items based on usage, inventory, project demand, seasonal demand, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
Conduct extensive and exhaustive research of catalog information to locate more cost effective, available substitutes and new products.
Identify and resolve discrepancies for urgent, critical shortage items requiring specialized procedures and efforts.
Use an automated system to input screening requests to obtain logistics data on existing national stock numbers.
Perform document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions.
Maintain liaison with customers and other local offices to ensure effective and timely handling of urgent, critical shortage, and other special items.
Review files ensuring accurate coding and deletion of outdated materials.
Requirements
- Drug testing is required.
- This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer assistance, using automated system to maintain files or retrieve data, and maintaining supply levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
