OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of Management and Administration, and Office of Special Reviews. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

Duties

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) , located in the Office of Management and Administration is responsible for administering, developing, delivering, and supporting information technology systems and services that require knowledge of information technology and security engineering principles, concepts, and methods. As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To be qualified for this position at the GS-14 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves: - Planning, coordinating, and implementing robust processes to ensure that threats and deficits in IT protection, operating capacities, and network stability are identified and remedied; AND - Planning, coordinating, and implementing overarching IT security projects and initiatives; AND - Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed IT systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
