About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-WJMH99 HQ US ARMY NORTH.

Duties

Writes, updates, and edits policy, guidance, oversight, and liaison in the respective intelligence disciplines, as well as the areas of Training/Doctrine/Readiness. Participates in recruiting, assessing, and selecting civilian personnel to fill vacancies and serves as the G2 lead for the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) Serves as the Assistant G2 Operations Chief Intelligence Operations Division, Assistant Chief of Staff, G2, United States Army North (USARNORTH). Maintain liaison with personnel in assigned and related fields to include National and Service departmental intelligence agencies, other U.S. commands, and other U.S. government agencies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • TDY 25% or less of the time
  • Will be required to deploy within the NORTHCOM AOR on short notice (in under 24 hours) by multiple means of ground and air transportation, as directed by the Secretary of Defense in response to a Presidential Disaster Declaration (PDD).
  • Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Will be expected to function in adverse climatic conditions and under intense physical and mental stress.
  • Must be capable, upon completion of training, of unassisted donning of mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) mask, clothing, and equipment, or equivalent clothing and protective equipment that guards against hazards.
  • Must be able to wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing such as boots, goggles, gloves, chemical mask, and other safety equipment as required.
  • Pre-employment physical required.
  • Participation in the DOD/DA immunization program to include live vaccinations as required by DOD/DA policy.
  • May be required to wear an electronic pager and maintain a working telephone at all times.
  • Deploys and serves as J2 for the MCP/OCP of JTF and JFLCC in support of Consequence Management missions. May also be deployed to support a Defense Coordinating Element (DCE) when necessary to support FEMA operations.
  • May serve as a member or alternate member of a Response Task Force (RTF), Defense Coordinating Element (DCE), or Crisis Action Team (CAT). May be required to participate in planned or `no-notice' training and readiness exercises or operations.
  • May be required to temporarily work extended and irregular tours of duty to include days, nights, shifts, and weekends during periods when USARNORTH's Emergency Operations Center (EOC), CAT, JTF, or RTF are activated.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Intelligence Policy and ProceduresIntelligence Staff ManagementOral CommunicationTechnical Competence Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
